Pioneer One Will Continue

With the donation target almost reached, Pioneer One will continue for at least another three episodes. I'm very impressed with this. The slightly bigger budget ($10,000 versus $6,000) per episode compared the first one, means the cast and crew will actually get paid, although it is not much.

One thing is clear: people are willing to pay creators directly for their work. This is how things used to be before copyright existed.

Pioneer One

Just watched the pilot of Pioneer One, an experimental series that will depend on donations to keep going. The first episode is worth a look but be warned the open scene is very awkward. It gets better once the plot kicks in. Considering the pilot was completed on a tiny budget of about $6000, they did quite well. It'll be interesting to see if there's enough viewer interest to raise the money for the rest of the first season.
